Reversed Polarity

Decades ago when ordinary men could still do repair work on their cars I replaced the regulator on a car that I had. I reversed the wires. The regulator seemed to work fine for a time and the car ran but I was headed for inevitable problems. I sold the car long before it was worn out because of the mistake. I didn*t learn of the mistake until after I had sold the car, when it was too late.

What happened to the human race when Adam and Eve sinned was like reversing its polarity. They had been drawn to good and then we began to be drawn to evil. We are all drawn toward evil until we trust Christ as Savior and then He begins to reverse our polarity. We begin to be drawn toward good. Eventually we will be drawn to the ultimate good, the presence of Christ in heaven. We who trust Christ are drawn not just toward life but into it. God decorates the path we are on with good. Those who reject Christ are drawn toward one evil after another until they are drawn to the ultimate evil, separation from God forever in the Lake of Fire. They are drawn toward death, moral, physical and spiritual. They are not just drawn toward death, they are in it. Satan litters the path they are on with all manner of evil. The opposing forces that draw some toward Heaven and some toward Hell make a great difference, even in this life.

1 Timothy 5:6: But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

John 5:24: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

1 John 3:14: We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

People that are pro-death are not just headed for it, they are in it. Euthanasia and abortion come to mind. If people are willing to steal life, they will usually also be willing to steal things of lesser value such as money. If people lie to themselves that life is not life, they will usually lie to themselves about other things. People can favor many different evils and seem to disagree with one another. But things they will always have in common will be to reject Christ and be His enemies.

Luke 23:12: And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.

Acts 4:27: For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

Acts 17:5-6: But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. 6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

Has the Lord reversed your polarity and turned your world upside down? Are you still fighting to keep some of the old polarity? Do you sometimes try to be upside-right with the world and at other times upside-down with it? That will make you dizzy. I have suffered from disabling vertigo, both physical and spiritual.

Psalms 20:8: They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

Psalms 25:8: Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

Psalms 32:11: Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Psalms 36:10: O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

Psalms 37:14: The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.

Psalms 37:37: Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
